Teamwork

 Teamwork is a term to describe a group of people working together to achieve a goal.

Teamwork consists of three main mechanisms. Communication is talking to each other and sharing each others ideas. An example of this in dodgeball is if someone can get a ball the team can communicate by calling out who to aim for.

Cooperation is working together and not let anyone being left out. An example of this in dodgeball letting everyone join in the game.

Collaboration is working with another person or with a group to achieve or finish something. An examaple of this in dodgeball is a team working together to win the game.

To be successful as a team all three mechanisms need to implemented throughout the activity.

Basic Facts Boxes

I completed a can-do task called Basic Facts Boxes.

First I went on the Basic Facts Boxes sheet and opened a timer to time myself. I did divsion and it was easy. I completed it in 5 minutes and 43 seconds.

Next time I will try harder level of division and finish under 5 minutes. By paying attention while I am typing and looking at the equations. 

SSR Selfie | Ninja Kid 1

  I read 20 pages of Ninja Kid 1 by Anh Doo.

This story is about a kid called Nelson Kane on his tenth birthday he became the ninja kid. Now he is the ninja kid he lives at Duck Creek it was peaceful. Until Dr Andrew Kane created creatures.  

I like the Ninja Kid ( Nelson Kane) because he trys to save everyone  in his town
including his bully Charles Brock.

Making Connections

Making Connections is a strategy for reading. Text to Self, Text to Text and Text to World can help you  make connections.

Text to Self is connecting a text or character that you inferred with something you already done, but it has to be something thats connects with the text or character that you inferred. 

Text to Text is connecting a text or character that you inferred with another text, but its has to connect with the other text or character that you inferred. 

Text to World is connecting a text or character that you inferred with a thing that happens around the world, but it has to connect with the text or character that you inferred.

An example of these are on the image below.

Making connections is an important way to understand a definition or similarity. Connecting stuff with other things can help you understand things like definitions.

Duffy Role Model | Marc Duffy

Marc Duffy is a Duffy Role Model. He went to prison for 4 years, but his life turned around in prison.

Marc Duffy learnt how to read left to right while he was in prison. When he was out of prison he got his school certificate and a diploma in business. 

He became a boxer after he got his school certificate and diploma in business. Marc Duffy owns the largest Bunnings store in NZ which is in Hamilton.

He also worked at Bunnings before he became the manger of Bunnings. He went back to university to become a counsllor. 

Marc is an amazing speaker and inspirator. He always says if you take of the t off can't it makes it can, so you can do it not you can't do it.

 

Multiplication

Multiplication is a fast way of adding the same numbers many times. The three, four, and the six times tables examples of multiplication. 

The three times tables are multiplying three by a number of groups.

The four times tables are multiplying four by a number of groups.

The six times tables are multilpying six by a number of groups.

The times tables are an easy way to remember basic multiplication equaltions. The next times tables to learn are the seven, eight, and nine times tables.

SSR Selfie | Speed King

I read 30 pages of Speed King by David Hill and illustrated by Phoebe Morris.

I learnt 3 interesting facts about Burt Munro. The facts are on the image.

I enjoyed the book because I learn some new facts about Burt Munro.

Prototec

 I praticed basic facts using Protoec.

I got 58/60 on stage 6 and I finshed in 4 minutes and 0 seconds. 

I'm going to try a harder level like stage 7 and try to get them all correct. My mistake was a typing error.

Public vs Private Information

Information can be shared with anyone. To keep safe, people need to understand the difference between private information and public information.

Private information is a peice of information you only want people you trust or your family to see. 

Public information is information your okay to if people see it from all over the world. 

If private information is not in the right place it could be stolen or copied by another person.

Character Trait | The Duck

A character trait is using adjectives to decribe how characters act and behave. 

The Duck is helpful becasue she gave water to the horse when it was tired and thirsty.

The Duck is cunning becasue she tricked the highway rat into thinking that she has a sister and leads the highway rat into a echoey cave.

The Duck is caring because she shares the food with the other villages while they are hungry.

 

Using these adjectives and facts it can be inferred that the Duck is a helpful and caring helper.

A Characteristic of	The duck	Is that she is	brave.
An example of this is	when she stood up for herself when the highway rat approached her. This shows that she is brave in scary times.
The duck	also shows	cleverness	when….
She tricks the highway rat with her fake sister. She tricks the highway rat by leading the highway rat into an echoey cave with no one living, but the rat falls for the trick.
To summarise the story of	the duck	is a	Brave and clever villager.

HPE | What is Teamwork?

 LS1 is learning what is teamwork by playing games.

First we played a game called Blind Fold Cone Challenge. We got into partners and one person from each partner gets a blindfold and the other person has to direct the partner to a cone, put the cone on top of the cone.

Then we played blindFolded Dodgeball with bean bags. We got into the same partner and the same person with the blindfold before has to put the blindfold on. While the partner was blind folded the other person from the partner had to direct the partner to get a bean bag or to throw the bean bag to a person.

Lastly we played hunger games dodgeball. Everyone was in a big square and they had to get a ball and throw it at another person but the outside people can throw at the inside people.

I enjoyed learning about communication, collaboration and cooperation because I can be a better team member when I play for a team. 

Compare and Contrast | Cultural Dance

 I learnt about the cultural dances.

I first wrote the similarities for the Aboriginal War Dance and for the Haka.

I then wrote the differences for the Aboriginal War Dance and for the Haka.

After that I copied and pasted the similarities on a slide. I then also copied and pasted the differences but writing a description to know the differences. 

 

I enjoyed learning about the different cultural dances because I can dance them myself.     

 

SSR Selfie | I Survived

 I read 20 pages of I Survived by Lauren Tarshis.

This story is about a kid called Chet Roscow see a shark and gets attack by a shark, but he saves his friends from dying.

I like Chet Roscow because he is brave and cares about his friends than money.

Fact or Opinion

 I completed a task called fact of opinion.

LS1 listened to a story called The Highway Rat and then we wrote facts and opinions of 2 different characters from the book.

I wrote facts and opinions about the duck from the book. After that I wrote 5 adjectives that matches the of the characters personality. One of my facts was the duck led the highway rat to an echoey cave and my opinion was the duck was trying to get rid of the highway rat.  A fact is something that is true and a opinion is something that you think of.

I need to work on finding the same adjective meaning for the character personality because I kept writing the adjectives that don't have the same meaning as the character personality. 

Prototec

I got 59/60 for stage 6 and I finished in 4 minutes and 0 seconds.

I'm going to try a harder level and get them all correct.

Multiplication

I learnt about multiplication. 

First I took big group of counters of an unknown amount.

Next I split it into small groups.

Then I counted how many groups there were.

Lastly I made rectangle and used multiplication to help me find out the unknown amount.

I enjoy using multiplication because it is a fast of adding the same numbers many times.
