SLJ Week 1 | Day 2 | Activity 3

This week for the summer learning journey we have completed our second activity. This activity was about reading a text and filling in a template. In the template you had to write who the characters were, what part they played in the story and what the outcome was for them. The second activity was to complete a comic, where you had to watch a video that had no words in it, and we had to write a comic and write what we think the actors are saying. I worked with Sakina to get this completed.

Great to see you doing the Summer Learning Journey, the comic looks well explained. How is it participating in your first Summer Learning Journey Programme?

  2. Kia ora Mercy,

Thank you for sharing your awesome comic strip that you created with Sakina. What great collaboration skills you both have!

I laughed when I read the character saying “Why?!” at the end. This was very funny.

Make sure Sakina also uploads the comic strip to her blog so that she can also win points.

I look forward to seeing more of your great posts.

  3. Kia Ora Mercy,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter for the Summer Learning Journey, it is awesome to see you completing the activities for this first week and I hope to see more from you over the summer!

I really enjoyed this comic strip activity as I like to read and draw comics of my own, I find writing comics quite hard because there is a limited amount of words so you have to tell the story using the images with small bubbles of writing. I thought your comic was well made, it told some sense of the story and was quite funny. After you had read the original story do you think your comic was quite similar and is there anything you would change about your comic?

Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

    Ngā mihi nui,
