SLJ 2020 Activity 5

 

Today for our fifth summer learning journey activities we were tasked at creating a kowhaiwhai pattern on paper or digital. In my kowhaiwhai I tried to create something that had to do with family. The task was fun and challenging.

SLJ 2020 Activity 4 Insect Art

 

My insect is a dragon fly.  I made it with leaves, sticks, flowers and rocks. It was hard to find all the products and make it.

We were given a task to buy $100 worth of gifts for our family. It was hard to find stuff for my parents.

SLJ Week 1 | Day 2 | Activity 3

 

This week for the summer learning journey we have completed our second activity. This activity was about reading a text and filling in a template. In the template you had to write who the characters were, what part they played in the story and what the outcome was for them. The second activity was to complete a comic,where you had to watch a video that had no words in it, and we had to write a comic and write what we think the actors are saying. I worked with Sakina to get this completed.

SLJ Week 1 Activity 2

 LI: To write a quality blog comment on someone else's blog that starts a rich learning.

Leaving a quality blog comment on another  student’s blog helps us make connections to new learning by asking open ended questions that encourage a reply and motivate the blogger to ask their own question in return. This is how a comment thread starts and when that happens we make connections with a wider audience who we can learn with and from.

My blog comment is a quality comment because I have followed all of the instructions of the commenting criteria.

SLJ Week 1 Activity 1

 LI: To collect materials needed to successfully complete our weekly superpower building missions with Nano Girl. 

This morning LS2 worked in groups with Room 5 to help us create our first Summer Learning Journey . PBS are still at school this week so finding some of the materials we needed for our treasure hunt was easy. Our challenge is going to be able to find all the materials we need at home now. I found this activity fun, because I am looking forward to completing these activities.  Did you find this activity easy and fun?

LI: To experiment with colours 

This morning we tried one of this year’s Kick Start Summer Learning Journey activities. The purpose of this task was to experiment with colours by mixing colours from the original palette with pop colours. This allows us to recolour famous paintings or images of landmarks around the world. This art is called Watermelon Seller by Hafidh al droubi.

2020 Blogging

This is week we looked at our 2020 blog posts. Here is a graph I made. My worst month for blogging was May because we were in lock down and it was the school holidays. September and June have the same amount of blog posts. I have achieved my goal of 100 blog posts for 2020.
